June 29, 2019- Chariton, Iowa
I am 100% completely convinced that Elyssa and Ethan are real life Disney characters. I’m serious! A great looking couple that sings songs together and has a love story that you only hear about in the movies. Not to mention they are the sweetest souls you will ever meet. Here is their story:
Elyssa and Ethan both grew up on family farms in Iowa. Eventually, it was fate that they would meet and fall in love. Ethan made the brave decision to join the military and serve our country, but that also came with sacrifices for both of them. April 13th, 2019, Ethan came home and surprised Elyssa with a ring!! It was absolute magic.
However, due to the way the military works, Elyssa and Ethan were not sure what to expect for their future, but they knew one thing- they were madly in love and wanted to spend the rest of their lives together. Three days later, on April 16th, they were talking on their lunch break and decided to tie the knot before Ethan left again. The called the courthouse and arranged for a minister to meet them immediately after work. The couple stopped by a gas station and bought electrical tape to make Ethan’s wedding ring with, then went to meet the minister at a baptist church. They got married under a big oak tree, saying their vows off of the top of their head, and crying together as they celebrated their love.
On June 29, 2019, they were finally able to celebrate their wedding in front of 300 family and friends at Elyssa’s family farm in Iowa. Elyssa wrote an original song for Ethan and surprised him with it during the ceremony- there wasn’t a dry eye to be seen. During the reception, they both performed a song together, and then impressed the crowd with a choreographed dance routine. To tie it all together, Elyssa and her dad ended their daddy-daughter dance by jamming to a compilation of dances including the whip, floss, and more! It was hilarious!
It is so easy to see the love between this couple and the care their families and friends have for them. It took a team to put together this wedding while Ethan was away, but it turned out more than they could ever have hoped for.
Congratulations to the Harings! Here is a sneak peak from their wedding.
